Atlanta 96 - On the Track of the Americas

On the 16th of August 1996, after the end of the Olympic Games, the city of Atlanta began gathering hundreds of athletes with physical disabilities in preparation for the Disabled Olympic Games. Roberto Boel Vaz was in Casa Brasil, meeting point for Brazilians in the Coca-Cola capital, when Pelé - the century’s greatest athlete - arrived. Admired all over the world, and always very kind, he broke the normal protocol to greet Roberto, the mastermind behind a project that would carry him over 42 thousand kilometres in a beetle to celebrate, in his own fashion, the centenary of the Olympic Games. "Brazil needs people like this, with determination, that break through frontiers", said the King of Football.
